Use find and replace to search inside the active note. To search across your vault, use [[Search]].
## Open find and replace
- To find text in the active note, open the [[Command palette]] and select **Search current file**.
- To find and replace text in the active note, select **Search & replace in current file** from the command palette.
- You can also select **More options** ![[lucide-more-horizontal.svg#icon]] in the note, and then select **Find...** or **Replace...**. See [[More options menu]].

## Find matches
1. Start a search using one of the methods above.
2. Enter the text you want to search for.
3. Select **Previous** or **Next** to move between matches.
4. Select **Find all** to select every match in the active note.
## Replace matches
1. Start a replace using one of the methods above.
2. In the **Find...** field, enter the text you want to replace.
3. In the **Replace...** field, enter the replacement text.
4. Select **Replace** to replace the current match, or **Replace all** to replace every match in the active note.
