سجل التغييرات

تابع تحديثات وتحسينات Obsidian.

Includes all new features and bug fixes up to Obsidian Desktop v1.15.1.

New

  • Added the Web viewer core plugin. With Open external links turned on in its settings, links to web pages open in an in-app browser that slides up over your note.
  • Android: Added a View note home screen widget that shows the contents of a note, replacing the Open note widget.
  • iOS: Added an Obsidian tile to the Quick Capture home screen widgets.

Improvements

Manage vaults

  • Each vault now shows where it’s stored, file count, Sync vault, and community plugins before you open it. If community plugins were slow to load last time, it suggests opening in restricted mode.
  • Renaming, moving, and deleting a vault are now in the … menu at the top of the vault’s screen.
  • Swiping from the edge of the screen now goes back.
  • If a vault didn’t finish opening last time, Obsidian now shows the vault screen instead of reopening it, including when opened from a link. The vault is marked in the vault list, and suggests opening in restricted mode.
  • A new vault with the same name as a deleted, forgotten or renamed vault confirms again whether to trust community plugins.

Android

  • Home screen widgets have a new design.
  • Home screen widgets and quick settings tiles now let you pick a vault and note from a list instead of typing their names.
  • The New note widget and quick settings tile can now create unique notes.
  • The New note and Daily note widgets and quick settings tiles can now open in a new tab.
  • Obsidian starts faster in vaults with large hidden folders, such as .git.
  • Settings → Files and links → Deleted files no longer offers “Move to system trash”, and the delete prompt now says files go to the .trash folder, where they already went.

iOS

  • The small Quick Capture home screen widget now shows up to 4 tiles in a 2×2 grid.
  • Voice capture now starts a new line when you pause speaking for 2 seconds.
  • Save Audio File in voice capture settings is now off by default. Turn it on to also keep the audio file.
  • Signing up for an account now opens in a sheet that slides up from the bottom.

Other

  • Sidebars on phone stay in place and fade in as the note slides to the side. The Sliding sidebars setting has been removed.
  • Settings, menus and other sheets now open and close more smoothly.
  • Formatting buttons in the editor toolbar now highlight when their style is active.
  • Settings and Community plugins: Swiping back from the edge of the screen now takes a lighter flick, and the previous page slides in underneath.
  • Community plugins now load faster when Obsidian starts.

No longer broken

  • Settings: Fixed settings and open tabs changed right before leaving the app sometimes going back to how they were the next time Obsidian opened.
  • Tablet: Fixed an open sidebar staying in its old layout after resizing the app between tablet and phone sizes, such as in Split View.
  • iOS: Fixed the Add button in Quick Capture Locations staying greyed out after deleting every location, until you closed and reopened the sheet.

Developers

  • On phones, the note and navbar get the is-sliding-sidebar class while a sidebar is open, and are dimmed by .workspace-drawer-backdrop and .workspace-drawer-navbar-backdrop. The sidebar itself no longer moves. The slidingSidebar config option has been removed.
  • Sheets on phones no longer use --anim-motion-swing when opening.

Search

  • Added Relevance sort option that sorts notes based on the best match for your query.
  • Search and search filters in other views (e.g. Backlinks, Outline and Bookmarks) now ignore accents, so cafe finds café.
  • Search and suggestions now treat ø, ł, đ, ð, ħ and ı as o, l, d, d, h and i, and ß, æ, œ and þ as ss, ae, oe and th, which helps with German, French, Danish, Norwegian, Polish, Croatian, Serbian, Vietnamese, Icelandic, Faroese, Maltese, Turkish and Azerbaijani. For example, lodz finds Łódź and strasse finds Straße.
  • Results now appear much faster when a search matches thousands of notes.
  • Results now update faster as you keep typing a word or add words to a search.
  • The search term explanation no longer flickers and shifts the results while you type.
  • Fixed Show more context showing a whole long table, code block, or list at once instead of the part around the match.

Improvements

Performance

  • The workspace now appears right away while Obsidian starts, with start-up progress in the status bar instead of a loading screen.
  • Notes now render faster in Reading mode, and the vault is indexed faster, especially with long notes.
  • Files: Loads faster in vaults with thousands of notes, and when expanding large folders.
  • Canvas: Large canvases now open, pan, and zoom much faster when content is visible.
  • The first launch after re-indexing a vault is no longer slower than usual.

Editor

  • Live Preview: Opening a note no longer shows the Markdown syntax at the cursor (e.g. the ## of a heading on the first line) until you move the cursor or start typing.
  • Smart lists prevents over-indenting list items more than one level deeper than the item above it.
  • Smart lists no longer moves nested list items when indenting or moving lines where text is selected.

Other

  • New vaults no longer show the ribbon. It can be turned on in Settings → Interface → Show ribbon.
  • Settings → Files and links → Allow URI callbacks is now set once on each device for all vaults instead of syncing with the vault. If you use callbacks, turn it on again on each device.
  • Opening a file of an unrecognized type in another app from a link in a note now requires confirmation, since some file types can run code on your computer.
  • Settings → Web viewer → Homepage and Search engine are now set separately on each device instead of syncing with the vault.
  • Sync: Vaults shared with you no longer sync main settings, appearance, themes, snippets, or hotkeys by default when you first connect.
  • Holding Ctrl/Cmd while picking a vault from the vault profile menu in the sidebar now replaces the current window instead of opening a new one.
  • Deleting a file now shows an error when it can’t be moved to the system trash, instead of moving it to the vault’s .trash folder (except from the CLI’s delete command).
  • Community plugins: Installing a plugin no longer picks up settings that came with the vault before it was installed. They’re kept as data.json.bak instead.
  • Obsidian URI: obsidian://new with a heading but no append or prepend now appends to that heading instead of showing an error.
  • On Windows, creating or moving a vault inside Obsidian’s installation folder, or opening a folder there that isn’t in your vault list, now shows an error. Opening a vault that’s already in your list shows a warning, since the installer erases that folder when Obsidian updates.

No longer broken

Canvas

  • Curved connections no longer disappear near the edge of the screen.
  • Scroll position no longer resets after you zoom out and move away from a card.
  • Buttons on a “missing file” card stay responsive after you zoom out and back in.

macOS

  • Fixed the main window turning black when you minimize the Settings window while the main window is in full screen.
  • Fixed Obsidian staying open in the Dock, or not reopening after “Relaunch”, when a note was still saving or a pop-out window was open.

Links and backlinks

  • Fixed a rare case of links and backlinks no longer updating until restart, after a note was deleted just after it changed.
  • Fixed a rare case of links and backlinks no longer updating after Settings was closed right after it opened in its own window.
  • Fixed a rare case of a note renamed just after it changed being listed twice in backlinks, or sharing its headings and links with a new note at its old name, until restart.
  • Fixed a rare case of a note in Reading view no longer updating after a pop-out window, such as Settings in its own window, was closed.

Other

  • Vault: Fixed a vault failing to load when it contains a folder Obsidian can’t read.
  • Settings: Fixed plugins turned on or off and Sync settings changed right before quitting sometimes going back to how they were the next time Obsidian opened.
  • Community plugins: Fixed Settings → Community plugins showing nothing when a plugin’s manifest.json has no name. Such plugins are now skipped.
  • Files: Fixed long folders snapping open or closed instead of animating.

  • Editor: Fixed “Inline math” in the Format menu not showing a check mark when the cursor is inside inline math.
  • Diagrams: Fixed obsidian:// links in Mermaid diagrams not opening the URI.
  • Graph view: Fixed a tag: filter with Tags turned on still showing the other tags of matching notes.
  • Tags: Fixed a tag: search (e.g. tag:#foo) hiding every tag.
  • Vault switcher: Fixed it staying in the old language after you pick a new one.
  • CLI: Fixed commands that take a moment to finish printing nothing when run from a script or another program.
  • Sync: Fixed folders at the top of the vault with certain names (e.g. constructor) never syncing to other devices.
  • Publish: Fixed Publish changes, Publish’s navigation settings and “Bookmark” not working with a top-level folder named constructor, toString or valueOf.
  • Math: Fixed links in formulas (\href) accepting addresses other than web and file links.

Developers

  • setTimeout and setInterval now run on time in minimized and hidden windows. Use window.setTimeout instead of activeWindow.setTimeout, whose timers never fire once their pop-out window closes.
  • CLI: eval now supports top-level await (e.g. eval code="await app.vault.adapter.list('/')").
  • Array#contains and String#contains are deprecated. Use includes instead.
  • FileManager#trashFile and FileManager#promptForDeletion now resolve to false when the file couldn’t be moved to the system trash.

Includes all new features and bug fixes up to Obsidian Desktop v1.15.0.

PDF export

You can now export notes to PDF on iOS and Android.

Voice capture on iOS

Quick Capture can now record voice notes and transcribe them as you speak, including on the Lock Screen. Recordings can be saved to your vault. Requires iOS 26.

  • Added Quick Capture to Spotlight actions and Siri, e.g. “Open Quick Capture in Obsidian”.
  • Setting Note Title to ‘Automatic’ in Quick Capture uses the first 80 characters of the capture as the note title.

Improvements

  • Manage vaults now uses the same design as the welcome screens, and can create a new Obsidian Sync vault.
  • Android: The back button now goes back a screen in Manage vaults instead of closing the app.
  • Pressing and holding no longer shows a ripple animation on devices that vibrate. Devices without vibration, like iPads, still show it.
  • Tab switcher: Tabs can now be dragged from one tab group to another.

Bases

  • On phones, filters are now in the Display menu, where each filter is a card that can be dragged to reorder.
  • On phones, the number of results now shows in the search bar instead of under the view name.

No longer broken

  • Fixed the comment button missing from the default editor toolbar.
  • Fixed the last community plugins and themes being hidden behind the keyboard while searching.
  • Android: Fixed the editor jumping back to the cursor when the keyboard or status bar changes size.

This update brings faster Mermaid diagrams that match your theme, reorderable filters in Bases, and new URI and CLI commands for adding content under a heading.

Diagrams and charts

Mermaid diagrams and charts are now rendered using our new library Pele, compatible with the latest Mermaid 12.1.0 syntax.

  • Diagrams now appear faster and use the colors and fonts of your theme.
  • Diagrams are now responsive to the width of a note, and can be zoomed and panned when they are scaled down.
  • Diagrams are now shown without asking first, since Pele can’t run code. The Show Mermaid diagrams in notes setting has been removed.

Improvements

  • URI/CLI: Added commands to append or prepend to a heading, and control for line breaks around appended/prepended content.
  • Suggestions now ignore diacritics (accent marks) so cafe matches café in link suggestions, Quick switcher, Command palette, and Bases search.
  • Tooltips no longer repeat text that’s already fully visible. They only appear when text is cut off.
  • Dragging items to reorder them now animates the item smoothly into its new position when you drop it.
  • Vim: Updated Vim mode with new commands and fixes, including g?, :put, search patterns in : ranges (e.g. :/foo/,/bar/d), Vim-style regexes with :set nopcre, <A-…> mappings on macOS, and fixes for gj, :sort, and ;, ,, >, and < in visual mode.

Performance

  • Community plugins now load faster when Obsidian starts.

Bases

  • Added dragging to reorder filters, and a menu on each filter row to add filters or move them between All views and This view.
  • Search now says when a result limit hides matches, e.g. “Showing 10 of 40”.
  • Formula fields can now be resized up to the width of the window.

Editor

  • Moving the caret up or down in Live Preview preserves its position relative to list text, accounting for bullets, numbers, and checkboxes.
  • With Smart lists turned on, indenting, unindenting, or moving a list item up or down now also moves the items nested under it. Pressing Enter at the end of an item with nested items now adds a new first nested item, or a new item below it if the item is folded.

No longer broken

  • Fixed renaming a file opened from outside the vault closing its tab.
  • Fixed Quick switcher failing to create a note while a file from outside the vault is open.
  • Fixed Obsidian reopening in a loop, even after quitting, when it’s the default app for a file type it can’t open (e.g. a .canvas file with Canvas turned off).
  • macOS: Fixed Quick Look previews blocking keyboard navigation for some users (requires latest installer).
  • Properties: Fixed Show source on an embedded note with invalid properties opening the note in place of the current one. It now edits the embed in place when possible, or opens the note in a new tab.
  • Fixed page previews and canvas cards of a heading (e.g. [[Note#Heading]]) hiding text, or showing it as properties, when the section under the heading starts with a --- divider.
  • Fixed the hints below property value suggestions (e.g. “Type [[ to link note”) not showing.
  • Fixed “Reveal file in navigation” in the Bookmarks right-click menu doing nothing when the Files core plugin is turned off.
  • Fixed “No backlinks found.” blinking in the Backlinks pane while Obsidian starts.

Bases

  • Fixed a filter value with a double quote or a backslash saving as a broken filter.
  • Fixed toolbar menus staying in place when the window is resized.

Editor

  • Live Preview: Fixed selecting bold, italic, or highlighted text sometimes including only one of its hidden **, *, or == marks.

Developers

  • prepareFuzzySearch and prepareSimpleSearch now ignore accents on Latin and Greek letters (e.g. cafe matches café).
  • Closing formatting tokens now include a formatting-*-end segment in their syntax-tree node names, not just a cm-formatting-*-end class. For example, the closing inline-code backtick is now formatting_formatting-code_formatting-code-end_inline-code. Plugins that match full node names like formatting-code_inline-code will miss closing tokens; match formatting-code instead.
  • Mermaid diagrams are now drawn using Pele. Added --mermaid-* CSS variables for colors, corner radius, and font weights. Elements inside a diagram have Pele’s .pele-* classes. Obsidian no longer includes Mermaid: loadMermaid() and window.mermaid now draw with Pele and support initialize(), render(), parse() and mermaidAPI.getConfig(), setConfig() and render(). Their SVG has Pele’s classes, not Mermaid’s. New code can use window.pele once loadMermaid() resolves.
  • The PIXI global is now loaded the first time a graph opens, instead of at start-up. Use loadPixi() to load it before then.

Improvements

  • Added support for highlight colors: 🔴, 🟠, 🟡, 🟢, 🔵, and 🟣. Add a color emoji at the start of a highlight, e.g. ==🔴red highlight==.
  • Mermaid diagrams and charts are now rendered using Pele. Diagrams load faster, use your site’s colors and fonts, and support zooming and panning.

No longer broken

  • Fixed missing padding around embedded notes.

  • Setting Note Title to ‘Automatic’ in Quick Capture uses the first 80 characters of the capture as the note title.

New

  • Added PDF export for notes on mobile.

Improvements

  • Manage vaults now uses the same design as the welcome screens, and can create a new Obsidian Sync vault.
  • Bases: Filters on phones are now in the Display menu, where each filter is a card that can be dragged to reorder.

This update introduces support for opening individual Markdown files, a kanban view for Bases, and highlight colors.

Important: opening Markdown files requires the latest installer. Download Obsidian from our website and reinstall the app.

While you’re here… Tell us about your favorite plugins, themes, tools, and ways to use Obsidian: take the State of Obsidian 2026 survey.

Open individual Markdown files

You can now open individual Markdown files from outside your vault in Obsidian, and preview them on macOS using Quick Look. Files open in your current window.

  • Added the “Open file from outside the vault…” command. Pick a Markdown file on your computer and view it in the app.
  • Obsidian now appears in your operating system’s Open with menu, and you can set it as the default app for Markdown files.
  • On macOS you can use Quick Look previews for Markdown files even when Obsidian is closed.
  • Added document icons on macOS and Windows for .md, .base and .canvas.
  • Image embeds and links to other local files resolve relative to the Markdown file’s folder.
  • Use Outline to navigate headings and Outgoing links to browse linked files.

Kanban view and group options for Bases

Bases now has a kanban view. Organize your notes into columns and drag cards between groups. You can also reorder and hide groups in any Bases view using the new Group menu.

  • Use the Group menu to choose a grouping property and reorder, hide, or add groups.
  • Groups are now collapsible in the table, cards, and list layouts.

Highlight colors

Bring color to your notes with six highlight colors.

  • Add a color emoji (🔴, 🟠, 🟡, 🟢, 🔵, 🟣) at the start of a highlight, or choose a color from the formatting menu.
  • Typing == in the editor now suggests highlight colors.
  • Live Preview: When the cursor overlaps a highlight, an inline swatch now appears. Click it to quickly change the highlight color.

Improvements

  • Improved fuzzy search in the quick switcher and suggestions. Matches where your letters start words now rank higher.
  • Link suggestions and the quick switcher now use fuzzy matching in vaults of any size.
  • Improved search in the File Explorer, Bookmarks, Outline, Tags, and Sync views. Search now matches the full path of each item, and everything inside a matching item stays visible. Groups with nothing to show are hidden.
  • Excluding a search term (e.g. -Archive) in the File Explorer, Bookmarks, Outline, and Sync views now hides a matching folder and everything inside it.
  • Improved drag and drop in the File Explorer. The view now smoothly scrolls when dragging near the edge.
  • The entire workspace, including the sidebars, now flips when Obsidian is set to a right-to-left (RTL) language. Commands stay the same, so “Toggle left sidebar” now refers to the visual left sidebar, even when the interface is flipped.
  • Redesigned the empty state and added “New base” and “New canvas” when their plugins are enabled.
  • Added “Increase font size” and “Decrease font size” commands.
  • Base font size is now saved per device and no longer syncs through Obsidian Sync.
  • Added an update notice in Settings → General when a newer installer is available.

Performance

  • Fixed periodic input lag in large vaults caused by properties getting recomputed in the background.
  • Fixed the app freezing when searching headings across all notes ([[##) in large vaults.
  • Fuzzy search in the quick switcher and suggestions is now faster in large vaults.
  • Closing popout windows (such as Settings) is now much faster.

  • Improved how dates and times are rendered in group headers and in read-only layouts (e.g. Cards, Kanban).
  • A base made with “Create new base” now names its first view “View” instead of “Table”.

Editor

  • Pasting a list item onto a line that already contains a list marker (e.g. - [ ] ) no longer duplicates the marker.
  • In Source mode, pressing ↑ on the first line of a note now moves the cursor to the inline title, like in Live Preview.
  • Improved the inline formatting commands. For example, “Toggle bold” on this line:
some **bold |text** on the line|

    now results in:
some **bold text on the line**

No longer broken

  • Fixed copy and paste not working correctly in popout windows, including copying and pasting notes in Canvas.
  • Fixed property suggestions sometimes showing results for an earlier query, which made Enter pick an old link instead of what you typed.
  • Fixed pressing Enter on an invalid title in an embedded note (e.g. a new note from Bases) reverting the title and moving focus out of it. The title now stays focused so you can fix the name.
  • Fixed tooltips briefly disappearing when moving between adjacent items.

Bases

  • Fixed the “+” button not generating correct frontmatter for unresolved links, e.g. file.hasLink("[[unresolved]]").
  • Fixed a long property name in a filter rule pushing the operator and value out of view.
  • Fixed “Hide all” causing the properties menu to render incorrectly.
  • Fixed “Copy path” showing up below “Delete” when you right-click a file in a table or cards view.

Editor

  • Fixed Option-Shift-↑ and Option-Shift-↓ not working consistently on macOS in long paragraphs, where the scroll position would sometimes reset and the text selection would be incorrect.
  • Fixed incorrect cursor placement when moving the cursor to the end of the line with multiple formatting markers (e.g. **__text__**).
  • Fixed ↑ not moving from the editor to the inline title when there are no properties.
  • Fixed Home and End keys in right-to-left languages.
  • Fixed a parser issue where ![]( caused all following text in the document to be treated as part of the image.
  • Fixed Markdown formatting characters not parsing correctly around emails (e.g. *Some email: [email protected]*).
  • Fixed clicking on collapsed reference links (e.g. [link][]) going to the wrong destination.

Third-party libraries

  • Math rendering now uses MathJax 4.1.3, replacing MathJax 3.

Developers

  • The installer has been updated to use Electron v43.7.5. To upgrade, visit the Obsidian download page and reinstall Obsidian.
  • Editor: Each line of a math block ($$) now has the .HyperMD-math class.
  • Settings: Added optional SettingDefinitionItem#id for setting a unique ID on individual settings. Think of it like <div key={key} /> in React. Use it to differentiate between sibling settings that share a name, or to keep a stable reference when a setting or setting page is renamed.
  • Added CSS variables for tooltips, notices, hotkeys, and tabs, using the prefixes --tooltip-, --notice-, --hotkey, --tab-inner- and --tab-container-.
  • Includes all new features and bug fixes up to Obsidian Desktop 1.14.4.

No longer broken

  • Bases: Fixed kanban view not scrolling horizontally when every card is hidden.
  • Bases: Fixed table view losing its horizontal scroll position when the pull-down action is triggered.
  • Bases: Fixed kanban columns resizing on mobile when the keyboard opens or closes.
  • Bases: Opening the view configuration page no longer automatically focuses the view name.
